The Challenge
Jack came out of COVID needing to rebuild. Tourism had been hammered across Australia, and Bike About needed more than a refresh. They needed to reclaim visibility, look the part, and make it easy for people to book. The brief had four clear parts: a new website, a promo film to showcase what makes their tours special, Rezdy integration for tour bookings, and a WooCommerce store for merchandise. We also set ourselves the goal of landing top-three for the key search terms in their space. Which, yes, we then had to go and actually deliver.
The Approach
We started with strategy, not design. Mapped the site, worked out exactly who we were talking to and what we wanted them to do when they got there. Once we had that clarity, we organised a film and photography shoot across some of the Adelaide Hills' most stunning wine country. Because a website selling bike tours through the Barossa deserves to look like it. The site was then built to SEO best practice from the ground up, with keyword targeting baked in from page one rather than bolted on after the fact.
The Result
Bike About is now regarded as one of South Australia's finest tourism operators. TiCSA award winners for three consecutive years and counting. That's Jack and Dan. My part was making sure that when someone went looking for a bike tour in South Australia, Bike About was the first thing they found. Top-three rankings across the key search terms, and we've held that or better ever since.
